André Mierzwa

Professional experience:

André Mierzwa is the Managing Partner and a member of the Board of Directors at the private equity fund 21 Concordia, which invests in Polish private enterprises. This fund is part of the 21 Invest group, managing funds with assets exceeding EUR 1.5 billion (www.21concordia.com).

He is a member of the supervisory boards of BOSSA Brokerage House and Hollywood S.A., a member of the Business Advisory Council of the Warsaw University of Technology Business School, where he lectures on private equity, business development financing, and mergers and acquisitions. He is also a member of the Polish Economic Society and a panelist at international conferences such as the European Economic Congress, Private Equity Insights, and SuperReturn, speaking on issues related to private equity, corporate governance, and business development financing.

From 1996 to 2011, he was the founder and Managing Partner of Concordia, an investment advisory firm. He advised Pernod Ricard on the acquisition of Wódka Wyborowa, France Telecom on the acquisition of Telekomunikacja Polska, and the owners of HTL Strefa on the sale of the company to the Swedish private equity fund eQ. Concordia collaborated with the Swiss brokerage house MC Securities, the American investment bank Donaldson, Lufkin, Jenrette, and the Portuguese Banco Espirito Santo.

From 1989 to 1995, he was the co-founder and Director of Central Europe Trust Co. Ltd, a London-based strategic advisory firm chaired by Nigel Lawson. He advised Western strategic investors on acquisitions in Poland and Central Europe and on the privatization of companies in the food sector (Olza Cieszyn, San Jarosław, Skawina), Stalexport, and Stomil Olsztyn.

From 1985 to 1989, he worked at the American strategic consulting firm Booz Allen and Hamilton, Inc. in Paris and London. He advised the governments of France, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand on restructuring and privatization projects, as well as the managements of international corporations on restructuring and sales strategy development. He also worked on reports concerning telecommunications and electronic media regulations for the UK government and the European Commission.

In 1987, he received an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management. In 1982, he completed his studies in International Trade at the University of Economics in Katowice.
