Dr hab. Maciej Smuk is a professor at the University of Warsaw. In 2003 he obtained a master’s degree in Romance Philology and a pedagogical license. Four years later, he got the Diplôme de Français des Affaires of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Paris. In 2010, he obtained a doctoral degree in humanities at the Wydział Neofilologii at the University of Warsaw, and 6 years later – a postdoctoral degree.
He is employed as a university professor at the Institute of Romanistyka at the Wydział Neofilologii at the University of Warsaw. Since 2016, he has also been the Director of the Institute. He is also an expert on the Polska Komisja Akredytacyjna (PKA).
His research work focuses on the psychological and social aspects of teaching and learning, especially foreign languages. He is the author/co-author of several dozen articles and three monographs, and a co-editor of several books on didactics (foreign languages), published in Poland and several countries. He has experience in conducting classes at several European universities.
He is passionate about passenger air transport.
