Magda Kochanowska is a designer and an author of numerous publications about design in many magazines. Together with Weronika Rochacka-Gagliardi, she runs the Design Provision company, which deals with the case of application of design methods in the processes of creating innovative products and services. Magda specializes in planning and implementing design processes, especially in the area of Service Design. Many years of experience and practical knowledge of various design tools and methods allow her to act freely in the context of designing processes, products, and services. She has carried out projects and trainings, for e.g.: Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, ING Shared Services (IBSS), ING Chief Innovation Office (Netherlands), Nationale-Nederlanden, Mercer Services Polska, Bain & Company Polska, EIT Food, Bank Millennium, Saint Gobain Polska, Nowy Styl Group, City of St. Warsaw or Polpharma.
She is a co-author of the psychometric tool – Design Mindset Detector, which determines the level of predisposition to work with the use of design methods. Since 2005, she has been associated with the Design Faculty of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 2010, she defended her doctorate, and in 2020 she obtained the degree of habilitated doctor. She deals with the theory and criticism of design and design methodologies. In the 2020-2024 term, she is the Vice-Dean for Education. For many years she was an editor in the 2+3D design quarterly. In 2011-12 she lectured at the Universidad Europea de Madrid. She carried out Polish and international exhibition projects in Poland and abroad. In 2014, she created “Polish Job” – an exhibition of Polish design presented during Design Week in Milan. She was the general curator of the Polish design presentation at the 2nd Istanbul Design Biennale in 2014. In 2016, she organized an exhibition of Polish design as part of the 21st Triennale di Milano.
